This page describes operational practices and is not legal advice. Final rights and permitted uses are defined by the applicable agreements and source licenses.
Who authorizes the environment
Capture and evaluation run only with written authorization from the environment owner or a customer who can grant access. Access to a build is not treated as a license to train, publish, or redistribute.
Code and assets are recorded separately
Engine source, evaluation harnesses, and art packs have different licenses. They are not collapsed into one footer on the dataset. A Three.js world can be deliverable as source while a texture pack inside it remains non-redistributable.
Third-party assets
Items without a recorded license stay out of delivery or sit in quarantine. We do not assume marketplace “any AI use” language without checking the actual terms. Licensed virtual assets in GaussMathematics materials means assets with a documented rights row for the program — not a claim that every GLB may be shipped onward.
Training rights are not redistribution rights
A contract may allow internal model training without allowing public dataset release, game shipping, or asset-store uploads. Those distinctions are written on the version card.
Customer-provided content stays isolated
Customer maps, logs, and assets are not entered into a public data pool. Confidential programs do not appear as unnamed case studies or as the public sample record.
Granularity
Provenance is kept at environment, capture-job, asset, and dataset-version grain. Derived tables point back to parent captures so a conversion of format cannot wash out a restriction.
Modified assets
Normalized, retargeted, or collider-augmented files keep a derived-from identifier. The modification does not create a cleaner license than the source.
Withdrawal, replacement, and versions
If a source license changes or an item must be withdrawn, the dataset version is superseded. Customers receive a replacement or a documented tombstone. History is not rewritten in place.
When counsel should review
Unreleased titles, mixed marketplace packs, export-controlled engines, or any plan to redistribute derived media should be reviewed by the customer’s counsel against the source licenses. GaussMathematics records operational provenance; we do not issue legal opinions.
